Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of AngloGold Ashanti plc since 1 Sep 2021. Before AngloGold, CEO of Orica Limited (2015-2021); before that, senior executive roles at BHP Billiton (2006-2013, culminating in Group Executive & CEO Aluminium, Nickel and Corporate Development); CEO of Cerrejón Coal Company (2002-2006); and President of Ecopetrol S.A. (1999-2002). Also held senior leadership positions in the IMF and the Colombian government earlier in his career.
