E2Gold Inc. (TSXV: ETU) is a gold explorer with a 541-claim exploration property in the Kabinakagami greenstone belt of north-central Ontario, beside the Hawkins property and about 140 km east of the Hemlo gold mine. Until April 2025 it also held an option from Pavey Ark Minerals over the Hawkins claims, which host the McKinnon Zone inferred resource (6.2 Mt at 1.65 g/t Au for 328,000 oz, 2020 NI 43-101 estimate). E2Gold terminated that option on 17 April 2025 and retains no interest in those claims; Pavey Ark has since optioned them to Exploits Discovery. In July 2025 E2Gold said it was reviewing its business strategy, including merger and acquisition scenarios, and would pursue remedies against Exploits over an alleged breach of a non-disclosure agreement. It holds no mineral resource of its own, and its shares have not traded since 9 September 2025.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
4.6/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)

A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

  • Distance to a producing mine
    Sub-score: Not yet researched

Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file

Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.
