Abacus Mining and Exploration Corp.A
Abacus Mining and Exploration Corp. (TSXV: AME) holds a 20% interest, carried to production, in the Ajax copper-gold-silver porphyry project near Kamloops, British Columbia; KGHM Polska Miedz holds the other 80% and is the operator. A Feasibility Study Update by M3 Engineering (19 February 2016) supports a Proven and Probable reserve of 426 Mt at 0.29% Cu, 0.19 g/t Au and 0.39 g/t Ag (about 2.7 billion lb of copper, 2.6 million oz of gold and 5.3 million oz of silver) within a Measured and Indicated resource of 568 Mt at 0.26% Cu, with a 65,000 tonne-per-day mill and an 18-year mine life; on a 100% basis it shows an after-tax NPV8% of US$215.6 million, an after-tax IRR of 11.1% and initial capital of US$1,307.2 million, using metal prices of US$3.21/lb copper, US$1,200/oz gold and US$16/oz silver, which Abacus notes are well below current prices. In December 2017 the British Columbia ministers declined to issue the project's environmental assessment certificate, citing its proximity to Aberdeen residents and First Nations concerns about Jacko Lake; KGHM, in consultation with Abacus, has since been re-evaluating the project toward a possible resubmission. Abacus also holds 100% of the Willow copper-molybdenum porphyry property near Yerington, Nevada, and ended its lease on the adjacent Nev-Lorraine property on 20 July 2026.

Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
