President of Pacific Opportunity Capital Ltd., a Vancouver-based financial consulting and merchant banking firm active in North American venture capital markets, which he founded in 1997. Over 35 years of executive management experience in the mining sector spanning M&A, financing, strategic corporate planning and corporate development. After completing his Chartered Accountant designation at PricewaterhouseCoopers he managed the financial departments of TSX-listed Miramar Mining Ltd. (later sold to Newmont Mining for $1.4 billion) and TSX-listed Eldorado Gold Corp. In 1999 he co-founded Rare Element Resources Ltd., which grew to a valuation of well over $500 million during his tenure; he was CFO of Nevada Pacific Gold when it was sold to McEwen Mining, founded Animas Resources Ltd. (sold to GoGold Resources), and was CFO and Director of Pitchstone Exploration Ltd. through its sale to Fission Uranium Corp. Founded Avrupa Minerals Ltd. in 2008 and chairs Mineral and Financial Investments Ltd., listed in the UK. Holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993.
