Founder (2005) and Chief Executive Officer of Gem Diamonds Limited. Studied commerce and accounting at the University of Cape Town before joining Anglo American in 1986, then E Oppenheimer & Son (rising to Managing Director) before leaving in 2005 to start Gem Diamonds, acquiring the Letseng mine in Lesotho in 2006 -- since the source of five of the twenty largest known white gem-quality diamonds on record. Gem Diamonds listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2007. Also Non-Executive Chairman of Zanaga Iron Ore Company Ltd. since 2009.
