James Bruce

Mining engineer and former Managing Director of Black Cat Syndicate Limited (11 February to 4 September 2026), where he succeeded founding Managing Director Gareth Solly. He began his career as a mining contractor and underground engineer in gold and nickel operations around Kalgoorlie, spent almost two decades in portfolio management and resources analysis in Sydney and San Francisco, joined Mineral Resources in a senior leadership role in 2020 and then served as Chief Operating Officer of Core Lithium. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) from the Western Australian School of Mines and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.
