Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
8/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score:
    10/10

    Disclosed pending acquisition

A disclosed pending acquisition scores 10 and a merger 8.5; any other corporate action, none, or a deal in which the company is the buyer isn't scored.

    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer stake on file; largest strategic holder is Ida Metal Investments Pty Ltd (controlled subsidiary of Aurenne Group Holdings Pty Ltd) (11.1%) See holders

Not an operating producer, so it isn't the toehold-then-takeout pattern the research documents; a missing producer stake isn't held against a company.

1/10

The largest registered shareholder is Ida Metal Investments Pty Ltd at 11.1% (70,743,694 shares, its 23 Jul 2026 substantial-holder notice), which that notice shows is controlled by the private mining group Aurenne Group Holdings; Ida Metal took a A$7.65 million strategic placement in 2025 and later applied to the Takeovers Panel over the Forrestania offer. Beyond it the register is individuals and general public, with no resource fund and no institutional ownership. The live fact worth knowing is a different one. On 8 June 2026 Forrestania Resources entered a binding takeover implementation deed to acquire Zenith outright for A$71.9 million. The offer has not yet closed: acceptances into it gave Forrestania a relevant interest of 58.23% at its 31 August 2026 substantial-holder notice, and it has been extended to 21 October 2026 under Takeovers Panel orders. A whole-company takeover is not what this score measures — it measures a minority stake taken by informed capital in a company that still trades independently — so it does not lift the number here.

Technical Report Takeaways

Zenith Minerals' flagship is the Consolidated Dulcie gold project in Western Australia, whose maiden JORC resource, effective 19 February 2026, is entirely inferred: 21.3 Mt at 1.0 g/t for 675,000 oz of gold, across the Dulcie Far North, Dulcie North and Dulcie deposits; the company also holds lithium and zinc assets. Zenith is subject to an off-market scrip takeover offer from Forrestania Resources, one new Forrestania share for every 4.3 Zenith shares, under a takeover implementation deed signed on 8 June 2026, which Zenith's board supports in the absence of a superior proposal. Forrestania has disclosed a relevant interest of about 58.14%, but Takeovers Panel interim orders bar it from declaring the offer free of its defeating conditions, shareholders who accepted have withdrawal rights, and the offer has been extended for a ninth time, to 21 October 2026.
