West Point Gold Corp. (renamed from Gold79 Mines Ltd., December 2024) is exploring the Gold Chain project, a large-scale low-sulfidation epithermal gold system in Arizona's historic Oatman District. A 2025-2026 drill campaign (21,079 metres) at the Tyro Main and Northeast Tyro zones has returned high-grade intercepts including 62.5m at 3.1 g/t Au and 56.4m at 4.24 g/t Au extending to 350m depth, feeding into a maiden mineral resource estimate the company is targeting later in 2026; no resource has yet been declared.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
6.3/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

VanEck's actively-managed International Investors Gold Fund, a real specialist gold fund, holds a meaningful stake just over 5%. Five different insiders bought stock on the open market over the past year -- a broad, genuine buying pattern -- though it is narrowly outweighed by one director's separate selling in the same window.

Technical Report Takeaways

West Point Gold, renamed from Gold79 Mines in December 2024, is exploring the Gold Chain project, a large low-sulfidation epithermal gold system in the historic Oatman district of Arizona. No mineral resource has been declared yet. Its 2025-2026 drill campaign of 21,079 m at the Tyro Main and Northeast Tyro zones has returned intercepts including 66.2 m at 6.57 g/t gold in hole GC26-148 and 62.5 m at 3.1 g/t gold in hole GC26-166, extending high-grade mineralization more than 250 m below surface. A maiden resource estimate for Tyro was on track for late in the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Notable Drill Intercepts

Grade x width ("gram-meter") is a discovery-quality signal Don Durrett cites: essentially every large (2Moz+) gold deposit has at least one intercept at or above 200 g-m (his own preference: 300+). Not exhaustive -- only intercepts the company itself highlighted as a headline result, not a full assay database.
