What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)6/10

The Kuska lithium brine project is at the Salar de Ollague in Chile's Antofagasta Region. Chile is generally a Tier-1 mining jurisdiction, but the 2023 National Lithium Strategy pushes new lithium projects toward state control or partnership requirements.

  • Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure

Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Kuska Lithium Brine Project, Salar de Ollague, Antofagasta Region, Chile (checked Sep 26, 2026; recheck due Mar 25, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.3/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

  • Distance to a producing mine

Technical Report Takeaways

Wealth Minerals is advancing the Kuska lithium brine project, about 8,000 ha in the Salar de Ollagüe in Chile's Antofagasta Region near the Bolivian border, held 95% by Wealth and 5% by the Quechua Indigenous Community of Ollagüe through a joint venture formed in May 2025. The resource, effective 31 December 2022, contains 741,000 t of lithium carbonate equivalent in the indicated category at 175 mg/L lithium, with no measured category, plus 701,000 t inferred at 185 mg/L. The February 2024 preliminary economic assessment by DRA Global, on a 100% basis, shows an after-tax NPV10% of US$1.15B and a 28% IRR for an operation producing 20,000 t a year of lithium carbonate equivalent after a two-year ramp-up, with initial capital of US$749M and a 20-year mine life. In January 2026 Chile's Ministry of Mining accepted the company's application for a Special Lithium Operating Contract for Kuska, which has not yet been granted.
