West High Yield (W.H.Y.) Resources Ltd (TSXV: WHY), founded by Frank Marasco Jr. in 2003 and headquartered in Calgary, is developing its 100%-owned Record Ridge magnesium-silica-nickel-iron deposit approximately 10km southwest/west of Rossland, British Columbia (over 8,972 hectares across 29 contiguous mineral claims, 8 crown-granted claims, and one privately-owned claim). A 2022 Pre-Feasibility Study outlined robust economics for a magnesium oxide production plant. In March 2026 the company executed a definitive forward sales agreement with Galaxy Trade and Technology, LLC (a US-based magnesium supply company) for magnesium-rich serpentine ore from Record Ridge. Through 2026 the company has advanced permitting materially: it received a BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit access permit (June 2026) and, most recently, an Occupant Licence to Cut and Remove Crown timber from the BC Ministry of Forests (September 2026, covering ~50 hectares) -- a key step for site preparation ahead of construction.

  • Jurisdiction (40%)9/10

British Columbia: Fraser PPI 2025 is 74.28 of 100 (rank 31 of 68), which maps to 9 on this site's scale. The Record Ridge project is near Rossland, British Columbia, a Tier-1 Canadian mining jurisdiction.

  • Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure

Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Record Ridge Magnesium-Silica-Nickel Project, Rossland Area, British Columbia, Canada (checked Sep 26, 2026; recheck due Mar 25, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: Copper Mountain (Hudbay Minerals Inc.), 195 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
4/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

Technical Report Takeaways

West High Yield Resources owns 100% of the Record Ridge magnesium-silica-nickel deposit, about 10km south-west of Rossland, British Columbia, across 8,972 hectares of claims. The SRK resource, effective 18 April 2013 and confirmed by SRK in March 2026 as still current, contains 10,590,000 t of magnesium in measured and indicated resources (7,050,000 t measured and 3,540,000 t indicated), in 43.0 Mt at 24.61% magnesium, plus 260,000 t inferred. A 2022 pre-feasibility study for a magnesium oxide plant reported a 72% IRR and a 172-year mine life. In March 2026 the company signed a forward sales agreement with Galaxy Trade and Technology for magnesium-rich serpentine ore, and in 2026 it received a road access permit and, in September, a licence to cut Crown timber over about 50 hectares for site preparation, although no construction decision has been announced.
