Ultra Lithium Inc.U
Ultra Lithium Inc. (TSXV: ULT) -- renamed from Ultra Resources Inc. in Jan 2022 -- explores lithium and gold in Argentina and the United States. Its flagship is the Laguna Verde I and II brine-lithium properties in Argentina (7,569 ha across three mining licences); it also holds gold-copper licences in the Chepes area of Argentina, the South Big Smoky Valley brine project in Nevada and a 60% stake in North Canada Lithium Corp (acquired Oct 2022). Title status: in June 2025 the general manager of its Argentine subsidiary signed, without authority, an agreement to sell 97% of Laguna Verde to Alto Grande Cobre S.A. for US$300,000; Ultra Lithium rejects it as null and void and has started civil and criminal proceedings. Under a December 2024 settlement with Power Minerals Limited it agreed to transfer all its Canadian claims, Forgan Lake and Georgia Lake in Ontario, to Power Minerals, whose 2026 annual report lists the Forgan Lake claims as 100% its own.
Notable vs. Peers
- Jurisdiction risk score of 6/10 is meaningfully riskier than the peer average of 7.7/10.
Lifecycle Milestones
Jurisdiction (40%)6/10
Catamarca Province, Argentina, is not rated in the Fraser Institute's 2025 or 2024 mining surveys (too few responses), so this score is Argentina's country level, 6. The flagship Laguna Verde I and II brine-lithium properties are in Catamarca Province; the company also holds the Chepes gold-copper licences in Argentina and the South Big Smoky Valley brine project in Nevada. Argentina carries national currency, capital-control and export-duty risk.
Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure
Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Laguna Verde I and II Brine Lithium Properties, Catamarca, Argentina (checked Oct 5, 2026; recheck due Apr 3, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.
Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched
No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
How this score is built
- Disclosed pending dealSub-score: Not scored
A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)
A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.
Weight 26.25% - Producer's strategic stakeSub-score: Not scored
No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders
Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
Weight 25% - Distance to a producing mineSub-score: Not yet researched
Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file
Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.
Weight 22.5% - Lifecycle stageSub-score:1/10
Stage: Grassroots Exploration
Feasibility and permitting score 10, where deals cluster, and production 5.5; earlier stages score less, down to 1 at grassroots.
