Taranis Resources Inc. (TSXV: TRO) is a Vancouver-based explorer advancing its 100%-owned Thor Gold-Silver Project (6,400 ha, past-producing Silver Cup Mining District, Revelstoke Mining Division, BC), a mid-size epithermal Au-Ag deposit also carrying copper-lead-zinc and critical-mineral (indium, antimony, gallium) by-products. Thor's current NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (P&E Mining Consultants Inc., effective 26 Feb 2024; technical report dated 11 Apr 2024) is Indicated 1.14 Mt at 0.75 g/t Au (27,400 oz) and 152 g/t Ag (5.6 Moz), containing 3.1M lb copper, 77.9M lb zinc and 47.8M lb lead, plus Inferred 599,000 t at 0.66 g/t Au (12,800 oz) and 117 g/t Ag (2.3 Moz). The company is expanding Thor into a district-scale target (11km intrusive dyke, three permitted drill-ready targets: Nortran, Borr, One O'Clock) and adjusted its 2026 exploration program citing current political/regulatory conditions in BC.

What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)9/10

British Columbia: Fraser PPI 2025 is 74.28 of 100 (rank 31 of 68), which maps to 9 on this site's scale. The Thor project is in the Revelstoke Mining Division of British Columbia, Canada, a Tier-1 jurisdiction. In 2026 the company adjusted its Thor exploration program 'due to current political and regulatory conditions in British Columbia' -- a disclosed operational friction, not treated as changing the underlying rule-of-law tier.

  • Infrastructure (40%)6.4/10

Confirmed road access at Thor Gold-Silver Project, Revelstoke Mining Division, British Columbia, Canada; existing mill, grid power, and tailings facility not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: New Afton (Coeur Mining, Inc.), 213 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
2.8/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

    Weight 26.25%
  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
