Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
6/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)

A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.

    Weight 26.25%
  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer stake on file; largest strategic holder is Altius Minerals Corporation (9.9%) See holders

Not an operating producer, so it isn't the toehold-then-takeout pattern the research documents; a missing producer stake isn't held against a company.

    Weight 25%
  • Distance to a producing mine
    Sub-score: Not yet researched

Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file

Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.

Weight is each input's share of the full score. “Here” is its share of this company's score: inputs that aren't scored are left out and the rest re-weighted, never counted as zero.

TNR Gold's own register does carry one real strategic position: Altius Minerals Corporation, a diversified natural-resource investment and royalty company, closed a C$4.2 million cash strategic investment for 9.9% of TNR Gold (as of 25 May 2026) -- separate from, and in addition to, TNR's own 0.4% net smelter royalty over McEwen Copper's Los Azules project, which the company holds but receives no operating cash from by design. No dedicated resource specialist fund holds a position and institutional ownership is 0%. The only insider transaction on file is CEO Kirill Klip's open-market disposal of 200,000 shares in August 2026 -- selling, not buying.

Technical Report Takeaways

TNR Gold is a project generator whose main asset is a 90% interest in the Shotgun porphyry gold project in the Kuskokwim Gold Belt of southwestern Alaska, about 190km south of the Donlin Gold deposit, which it is marketing for a joint venture with a major. Shotgun's 2013 resource is entirely inferred: 20,734,313 t at 1.06 g/t gold for 705,960 oz, at a 0.5 g/t cut-off. TNR also holds a copper royalty over ground around McEwen Copper's Los Azules project in Argentina and a lithium royalty on the Mariana project in Argentina. Since 28 November 2025 it has been running a formal strategic review of M&A opportunities for its royalty portfolio, with no named counterparty or agreement announced. Altius Minerals raised its holding to 30,935,000 shares in 2026, and a shareholder nominated four director candidates for the 22 September 2026 annual meeting.
