Zincalso:Ayawilca Zinc-Silver-Tin Project, Pasco Region, Peru (100%) Map

Tinka Resources Limited (TSXV: TK) is a Peru-focused explorer/developer whose 100%-owned flagship is the Ayawilca polymetallic Zinc-Silver-Tin project, a carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) 200km north of Lima in the Pasco region -- the same geological belt hosting the Cerro de Pasco and Morococha districts. The Zinc Zone was discovered by Tinka in 2012; the company has drilled approximately 100,000m at the property to date. Tinka is separately negotiating community agreements to extend its social licence, expected to allow renewed drilling at Ayawilca (and possibly the nearby Colquipucro silver deposit) in Q3 2026; a further drill program targeting resource conversion and a mineral resource upgrade is planned for early 2027, with a PFS to follow later that year. The company also holds the separate Silvia copper-gold project (early-stage, initial 1,400m drill program completed) and the Colquipucro silver deposit (its own Indicated/Inferred resource, documented below but not used for company stage since Ayawilca's PEA is more advanced).

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.1/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

  • Distance to a producing mine
    Sub-score: Not yet researched

Technical Report Takeaways

Tinka Resources owns 100% of the Ayawilca zinc-silver-tin project, a carbonate replacement deposit 200km north of Lima in Peru's Pasco region, where it discovered the Zinc Zone in 2012 and has drilled about 100,000m. The Zinc Zone's indicated resource contains 1,650,169 t of zinc (28.3 Mt at 5.82% zinc and 16.4 g/t silver), with no measured category, plus 1,314,511 t of zinc inferred. The 2024 preliminary economic assessment shows an after-tax NPV8% of US$434M and a 25.9% IRR, with initial capital of US$262M, a 21-year mine life and an all-in sustaining cost of US$0.68/lb of payable zinc net of by-product credits. Tinka is negotiating community agreements to allow renewed drilling at Ayawilca, with a resource-conversion drill program planned for early 2027 and a pre-feasibility study to follow later that year. It also holds the Colquipucro silver deposit, with an indicated resource of 14.3 Moz of silver, and the early-stage Silvia copper-gold project.
