Triumph Gold Corp. (TSXV: TIG; formerly Northern Freegold Resources Ltd, renamed Jan 2017) holds the 100%-owned, road-accessible Freegold Mountain Project (about 200 km2) in the Dawson Range Au-Cu Belt, roughly 70 km northwest of Carmacks, Yukon, along the Big Creek Fault Zone. It hosts three NI 43-101 deposits: Nucleus (Au-Ag-Cu), Revenue (Au-Ag-Cu-Mo, porphyry-related) and Tinta Hill (Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn veins). The current Mineral Resource (SIM Geological, effective 11 Feb 2020) is 42.4 Mt at 0.58 g/t Au for 791,000 oz Au Indicated at Nucleus and Revenue, plus 39.0 Mt at 0.56 g/t Au for 707,000 oz Au Inferred across all three deposits (about 1.0 Moz and 1.085 Moz AuEq). Triumph has no current economic study: the only one, Northern Freegold's February 2013 PEA, was built on 2012-2013 resource estimates that the 2015 and 2020 updates replaced, and the company no longer cites it. In May 2025 Triumph reported the Proton Zone, a new silver-gold vein showing 1.3 km northeast of Nucleus that is not part of the resource.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.8/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

  • Distance to a producing mine
