Sunstone Metals Ltd
Sunstone Metals is advancing the Bramaderos gold-copper project in Ecuador. Price and share count are on a post-30:1-consolidation basis (effective 23 Feb 2026); any pre-Feb-2026 figure found elsewhere is stale. Cash of ~A$13 million pro-forma doesn't cleanly reconcile against a conflicting A$1.7 million pre-raise balance also found and is treated as approximate; debt-free.
Notable vs. Peers
- Jurisdiction risk score of 4/10 is meaningfully riskier than the peer average of 7.8/10.
- Financials score of 10/10 is stronger than the peer average of 6.6/10.
- Trading within 7% of its 52-week low — weak recent price momentum.
Lifecycle Milestones
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Insiders, Investors & Smart Money
Notable shareholders and insiders whose involvement is worth knowing about, plus what we're seeing from institutional/large-investor activity.
DGR Global, an ASX-listed company with more than a decade of hands-on experience in Ecuadorian copper-gold exploration, paid close to five million dollars in cash for exactly 10% of Sunstone Metals in mid-2026, with the right to nominate a director as long as it holds that stake.

Reports, Presentations & Documents
Bramaderos Gold-Copper Project (Ecuador), Nov 2025 MRE: 220 Mt at 0.50 g/t AuEq (0.33 g/t Au + 0.10% Cu + 1.16 g/t Ag at a 0.30 g/t AuEq cut-off) for 3.6 Moz AuEq -- category breakdown: Indicated 600,000 oz AuEq (up from 200,000 oz in the 2022 estimate) + Inferred 2.9 Moz AuEq, zero Measured. CORRECTION (this pass, Task #317 Lane A, 2026-08-18): a prior version of this note framed the ouncesFound null as resting on an 'open, repo-wide policy question' about whether AuEq-blended ounces belong in the field at all -- that framing is stale. docs/GOLD-DATA-OPERATIONS-PLAYBOOK.md Section 7.5 Rule 2 has since been settled (Task #443): an AuEq-reported deposit is excluded from ouncesFound only when the tracked metal is a by-product credit, not the economic driver. Bramaderos is gold-dominant (0.33 of the 0.50 g/t AuEq blend, ~66%, comes from gold), so Rule 2 does NOT exclude it -- a straight-gold M+I figure would be writeable in principle. The real, current blocker is data availability: the Nov 2025 MRE announcement discloses the Indicated category only as an AuEq-blended 600,000 oz figure and gives the straight-Au grade (0.33 g/t) only at the whole-deposit (M+I+Inferred, 220 Mt) level, not broken out per category -- so a straight-gold Indicated ounce figure cannot be computed from what was found this pass. ouncesFound left null (RESEARCHED_UNKNOWN, not a settled convention-driven null) pending the per-category JORC Table 1 breakdown from the original ASX announcement. IMPORTANT: Sunstone released a Bramaderos Scoping Study on 21 Apr 2026 (press-reported ~US$1.4B post-tax NPV / 28% IRR) and then formally RETRACTED the production-target and forecast-financial-information elements of it on 11 May 2026 following ASX consultation, stating it lacked a reasonable basis for those forward-looking figures given the large proportion of Inferred resource in the life-of-mine plan. No PEA/scoping-study economics (NPV/IRR/mine life/AISC) are currently usable -- do not resurrect the retracted $1.4B/28% figures from stale press coverage. Company is drilling Copete/Porotillo and targets an updated Bramaderos MRE plus fresh optioneering studies in 2026/27.
