Salazar Resources Limited (TSXV: SRL) is Ecuador's leading generative copper-gold explorer, holding a 25% carried-through-to-production interest in the El Domo deposit at its own maiden Curipamba discovery -- now being advanced to production by operator/75%-owner Silvercorp Metals Inc. (which acquired its interest via Silvercorp's 2024 acquisition of Adventus Mining). El Domo received its Resolution of Change of Phase from Ecuador's Ministry of Energy and Mines on 6 August 2024, advancing the project's legal status to the Exploitation Phase and permitting construction and operation to begin -- Silvercorp's own press framed this as the project being 'Fully Permitted to Start Construction.' A legal challenge to El Domo's environmental license was rejected by a local Las Naves Canton court in July 2024 and the license was subsequently upheld unanimously by Ecuador's Constitutional Court in August 2025, resolving the project's key permitting risk. As of October 2025, construction was well underway: approximately 1.29 million cubic metres of material removed, the 481-bed construction camp substantially complete, commissioning of the mine and process plant targeted for late 2026, and first commercial production targeted for July 2027.

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.

El Domo (Curipamba) is in Ecuador's Bolivar and Los Rios provinces. Ecuador brings real permitting and political complexity (El Domo's environmental licence was legally challenged before Ecuador's Constitutional Court upheld it in August 2025), but also an active, government-supported copper-gold development buildout.

  • Infrastructure (40%)0/10

No confirmed mill, no confirmed road access, no confirmed grid power, and no confirmed tailings facility at El Domo Deposit, Curipamba Project, Bolivar/Los Rios Provinces, Ecuador.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
6.7/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
