GoldPense Critical Metals Project (Ontario-Quebec border, about 9,000 hectares); also the Oakes gold project near Matachewan, Ontario, and an option on the Morrison silver mine (Glen Eagle earning 70%) Map

Sparton Resources Inc. (TSXV: SRI) explores for critical metals and gold in Ontario and Quebec and holds an investment in a vanadium-battery maker. Its Pense Critical Metals Project, about 9,000 hectares in 185 claims straddling the Ontario-Quebec border east of Englehart, Ontario, targets polymetallic sulphide mineralization in mafic-ultramafic systems, where historic work included a 1997 hole of 0.893% Cu, 1.30% Zn, 4.12 g/t Ag and 1.69 g/t Au, and 2026 work added an airborne electromagnetic survey and drilling on the Quebec side. It also holds the 100%-owned Oakes project near Matachewan, next to Alamos Gold's Young Davidson mine, where induced-polarization surveys outlined drill targets. In June 2026 it took a three-year option to acquire 100% of the past-producing Morrison silver mine near Gowganda, Ontario, and in September 2026 agreed that Glen Eagle Resources can earn 70% of Morrison by funding exploration, with Sparton as operator. Its shares have been halted since 1 September 2026; the exchange has conditionally accepted the Morrison transaction, and trading is to resume once an NI 43-101 technical report is filed. Its 90%-owned subsidiary VanSpar Mining owns 9.975% of VRB Energy Inc. No mineral resource has been estimated on any of its projects.

What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)9/10

Canada: scored 9 in line with the other Canadian companies on this site. Sparton names no single flagship; its anchor project, Pense, straddles the Ontario-Quebec border (both provinces map to 9 on the Fraser basis), so no single province is assigned. Its Oakes project near Matachewan, Ontario, is named as context and not blended into the score.

  • Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure

Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Pense Polymetallic Property, Ontario-Quebec border, Canada (checked Oct 5, 2026; recheck due Apr 3, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
4.6/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)

A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

  • Distance to a producing mine
