Sama Resources Inc. (TSXV: SME) holds a 40% joint-venture interest in the Samapleu-Grata polymetallic nickel-copper-cobalt-PGE project in western Cote d'Ivoire (~600km NW of Abidjan, part of a 125km-long new West African base-metal camp alongside the Sipilou/Foungouesso Ni-Co laterite deposits), with Ivanhoe Electric Inc. holding the remaining 60% and acting as project operator after completing its earn-in (announced 2024). A 2026 regional exploration program (assays returned July 2026) identified new polymetallic mineralization, including a discovery 10km south-southwest of the existing deposits (Mossikro Prospect) and further mineralization southwest of the Samapleu Extension Deposit, with an updated resource targeted at the Samapleu SW Extension and a maiden resource declaration targeted at the Yepleu Prospect.

Lifecycle Milestones
Not in place: mill. Not yet determined: tailings facility, road access, grid power.
Jurisdiction (40%)5/10
The Samapleu-Grata project is in Côte d'Ivoire, whose 2014 mining code reform and growing gold-mining sector (Endeavour Mining and Perseus Mining operate producing mines there) show real institutional maturity. West African political risk and a shorter base-metals permitting history keep it below Tier-1.
Infrastructure (40%)3.6/10
No confirmed mill at Samapleu-Grata Ni-Cu-Co-PGE Project, Cote d'Ivoire; road access, grid power, and tailings facility not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.
Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched
No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: Ity (Endeavour Mining plc), 97 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
How this score is built
- Disclosed pending dealSub-score: Not scored
No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)
Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.
Weight 26.25% - Producer's strategic stakeSub-score: Not scored
No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders
Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

On a 100% basis the 2024 resource contains 14.99 Mt of indicated material at 0.25% nickel, 0.22% copper, 0.02% cobalt and 0.31 g/t palladium, plus 101.9 Mt inferred at 0.25% nickel, and a 2024 preliminary economic assessment outlined a 16-year operation producing separate copper and nickel concentrates. Regional exploration in 2026, with assays returned in July, found new polymetallic mineralisation, including the Mossikro discovery 10km south-south-west of the existing deposits, and the partners are targeting an updated resource at the Samapleu SW Extension and a maiden resource at the Yepleu prospect.
