Solitario Resources Corp. (TSX: SLR; NYSE American: XPL; formerly Solitario Zinc Corp.) holds a three-project portfolio across three jurisdictions. (1) Florida Canyon (formerly Bongara) Zn-Pb-Ag project, Amazonas Department, Peru: a joint venture (Minera Bongara S.A.) currently 39% Solitario and 61% Nexa Resources, the operator. Under the joint-venture terms Nexa funds all costs through a feasibility study, on completion of which it earns a 70% interest and Solitario holds 30%, and Solitario is carried to production. (2) Golden Crest, a 100%-owned grassroots gold exploration project in the northern Black Hills, South Dakota: a 2026 Phase-1 program at the Ponderosa target (10 core holes, 2,949m, drilled mid-May to late-July 2026) intersected only low-level gold mineralization (0.02 to 0.40 g/t Au) across multiple intervals in Paleozoic limestones, with no high-grade feeder zone cut. (3) Lik, a high-grade zinc deposit in northwestern Alaska 14 miles northwest of Teck's operating Red Dog mine, held 50/50 with Teck American Incorporated (a Teck Resources subsidiary), with an Indicated resource of 17.6 Mt at 8.07% zinc on a 100% basis (effective 31 December 2021) and a 2014 preliminary economic assessment. Over US$110 million has been spent collectively across Florida Canyon and Lik to date.

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.

What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)5/10

Florida Canyon, the project that sets the company's stage, is in Amazonas Department, Peru, an established mining jurisdiction with periodic political and permitting friction. Its Golden Crest (South Dakota) and Lik (Alaska) projects are in lower-risk US jurisdictions.

  • Infrastructure (40%)4.3/10

No confirmed mill, confirmed road access, and no confirmed tailings facility at Florida Canyon Zinc-Lead-Silver Project (joint venture with Nexa Resources), Amazonas Department, Peru; grid power not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.1/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

Technical Report Takeaways

Solitario Resources, formerly Solitario Zinc and listed on the TSX and NYSE American, holds non-operating joint-venture interests in two zinc projects and a 100%-owned gold exploration project. Its main asset is a 39% interest in the Florida Canyon zinc-lead-silver project in Peru's Amazonas Department, operated by Nexa Resources with 61%, where measured and indicated resources are 3,256 kt at 12.2% zinc, 1.53% lead and 18.51 g/t silver on a 100% basis. A 2017 preliminary economic assessment on Florida Canyon considered a 2,500 t/d underground mine, and no updated study has been completed since. Solitario also holds 50% of the Lik zinc deposit in northwestern Alaska with Teck, 14 miles northwest of Teck's Red Dog mine, where indicated resources are 17.6 Mt at 8.07% zinc on a 100% basis (estimate effective 31 December 2021), and a preliminary economic assessment was completed in 2014. At the 100%-owned Golden Crest project in South Dakota's Black Hills, a 10-hole, 2,949 m program at the Ponderosa target in 2026 intersected only low-level gold of 0.02 to 0.40 g/t, with no high-grade feeder zone.
