Skylark Minerals LimitedS
Skylark Minerals Limited (ASX: SKM; formerly Ironbark Zinc Limited, ASX: IBG -- renamed by announcement lodged 17 Dec 2024, name change registered 7 Jan 2025) is a Subiaco, Western Australia-headquartered gold explorer whose business and asset base are now in CÔTE D'IVOIRE, not Australia. Its flagship is the ZARANOU gold project in southeast Côte d'Ivoire -- 287 km2 on a single granted exploration licence (2019-186 PR830) about three hours by road from Abidjan -- which carries a JORC 2012 inferred Mineral Resource of 364,600 oz gold at 1.8 g/t (approximately 6.2 Mt), held at 51% with a staged earn-in to up to 100%. Zaranou is supported by two further Côte d'Ivoire projects: MAPHAI (398 km2 exploration licence application, 30 km from Zaranou on the same mineralised trend, with artisanal workings, earning up to 100%) and VAVOUA (537 km2 across two contiguous licences, Vavoua North and South, 20 km along strike from the operating Abujar mine, option to acquire up to 100%; historical drilling includes 2 m at 6.4 g/t Au and 4 m at 0.8 g/t Au). The Côte d'Ivoire portfolio was acquired from RICCA resources LTD for total consideration of about A$6 million under a binding share purchase agreement plus two option agreements; completion was conditional on Ricca shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting held 11 Dec 2025 and is done, and the Vavoua option was exercised for A$150,000 (confirmed in the June-quarter update lodged 28 Jul 2026). An A$10 million raise funds Zaranou exploration. Current activity is drilling at the M'BASSO and EHUASSO zones, with M'Basso's strike extended to about 2 km and a Zaranou resource UPGRADE guided for Q4 2026. The company retains earlier-stage non-flagship interests: the Simon-Anderson copper project (Mt Isa, Queensland, 80%), the Perseverance lithium/rare-earth project (seven project areas northeast of Minas Gerais, Brazil, 100%), and two NSW brownfield licences -- Fiery Creek EL 6925 (100%) and Captains Flat EL 6381 (50%, with Glencore holding the other 50%). Its former defining asset, the CITRONEN zinc-lead project in Greenland, is gone: the proposed sale to Almeera Ventures was terminated (announced September 2025), Greenland licence 2016-30 over the fully impaired project was relinquished, and Greenland operations were wound up.
Notable vs. Peers
- Jurisdiction risk score of 5/10 is meaningfully riskier than the peer average of 7.8/10.
Lifecycle Milestones
Jurisdiction (40%)5/10
Côte d'Ivoire has an established, mining-friendly code and improving political stability since the 2011 crisis, but still carries more institutional and security risk than North America/Australia. The company retains real Australian and Brazilian tenure, but its flagship, its only resource and its entire current exploration spend are Ivorian.
Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure
Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Zaranou Gold Project, Southeastern Cote d'Ivoire (checked Sep 26, 2026; recheck due Mar 25, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Reports, Presentations & Documents
Skylark Minerals, formerly Ironbark Zinc, is a gold explorer whose flagship is the Zaranou gold project in south-eastern Côte d'Ivoire, a 287 km2 exploration licence about three hours by road from Abidjan, in which it holds 51% with a staged earn-in to up to 100%. Zaranou carries a JORC resource, reported in November 2025, that is entirely inferred: about 6.2 Mt at 1.8 g/t for 364,600 oz of gold, and a resource upgrade is guided for the fourth quarter of 2026. Skylark acquired its Côte d'Ivoire portfolio from Ricca Resources for about A$6M, completed after Ricca's shareholders approved it on 11 December 2025, and it also holds the Maphai licence application 30km from Zaranou and the Vavoua licences 20km along strike from the Abujar mine, where it exercised its option for A$150,000. It retains smaller interests in Australia and Brazil, including the Simon-Anderson copper project in Queensland and a 50% share of Captains Flat in New South Wales with Glencore.
