GoldTanami North Project (Hyperion & Tregony Deposits, Northern Territory, Australia) Map

Prodigy Gold NL explores for gold in the Tanami region of the Northern Territory, Australia, alongside major operators Newmont and Northern Star in the same multimillion-ounce province. Its Tanami North Project centres on the Hyperion deposit (9.8 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t gold for 454,000 ounces) and the Tregony deposit, with a broader target pipeline including Brokenwood, Pandora and Mark's Rise. The company also holds the Twin Bonanza Project, where ore-sorting testwork on Old Pirate Gold Mine feed material upgraded grade from 322.3 g/t to a 2,647 g/t concentrate, supporting a potential mine restart; it secured an A$112,152 NT Government co-funding grant for deep diamond drilling at Hyperion.

Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Newmont funds an active earn-in joint venture on Prodigy's Tobruk project, next to Newmont's own Callie mine -- sole-funding up to A$12M of exploration to earn up to 70%, plus A$2.5M in cash payments to Prodigy. The deal originated in 2019 but is confirmed still active in Prodigy's FY2025 annual report. ASA Gold & Precious Metals Limited, a genuine specialist closed-end fund dedicated to precious-metals mining equities, separately holds a real 6.67% stake -- a real resource-sector conviction position, contrary to what this note previously said. No recent insider buying was found alongside it. Institutional ownership overall is 35.8%.

No notable insiders tracked for this miner yet.
