OnGold Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ONAU, OTCQB: ONGRF) is a gold explorer whose flagship is the Monument Bay Gold & Tungsten Project in northeastern Manitoba, acquired 100% from Agnico Eagle Mines (completed December 2024, for C$100,000 cash plus 8.7 million shares, alongside the Domain project). On 14 September 2026 ONGold announced an updated NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate for Monument Bay with an effective date of 31 July 2026, prepared by SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. (QP Souvik Banerjee, P.Geo.), which rebuilt the mineralisation model and constrained the estimate inside a new conceptual pit shell: open-pit-constrained Measured 18,859 kt at 1.00 g/t Au (606,000 oz) plus Indicated 55,531 kt at 0.79 g/t Au (1,403,000 oz) for Measured + Indicated of 74,390 kt at 0.84 g/t Au containing 2,009,000 oz gold, with an additional Inferred 24,456 kt at 0.62 g/t Au containing 491,000 oz. Reported at a 0.20 g/t Au cut-off, a US$3,000/oz gold price and variable gold recoveries of 88.5-94.5%; tungsten, which the project also hosts, was deliberately excluded from the 2026 estimate although re-logging, infill sampling and pulp re-analysis have materially improved the tungsten database. On 15 September 2026 the company identified the AZ Zone as a priority drill target and reported Manitoba government support. Its second project, TPK, received diamond-drilling permits for the Gold Ridge and Big Dam targets in May 2026, with exploration assays up to 17.96 g/t Au. Recorded plainly rather than presented as a research failure: it is a staleness defect, not a care defect, and it is the specific failure mode that only re-running the detector against live state can catch.

Manitoba has Canadian rule of law, but mining executives rate its policy climate below Canada's leading mining provinces.

  • Infrastructure (40%)3.6/10

No confirmed road access at Monument Bay Gold Project, northeastern Manitoba, Canada; existing mill, grid power, and tailings facility not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
7.3/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

6/10

Agnico Eagle, one of the world's largest gold producers, holds about 12% of ONGold (8.7 million shares, 11.8% of 74.0 million; ONGold's September 2026 deck). It received those shares as part of the price when it sold Monument Bay to ONGold in December 2024, so it is a vendor's stake rather than a fresh cash bet -- still a real vote of confidence from the company that knows the deposit best. Michael Gentile, a well-known resource financier who also backs other companies in this dataset, holds close to 6% -- but he sits on ONGold's own board as a director, so that is insider alignment (management ownership), not outside capital -- and the chief executive bought shares on the open market in October 2025.
