Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.2/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

Technical Report Takeaways

NexGold Mining, rebranded from Treasury Metals in July 2024, is a Canadian gold developer with two 100%-owned projects: the fully permitted Goldboro project in Nova Scotia, planned as an open-pit and underground mine, and the Goliath Gold Complex near Dryden, Ontario, which combines the Goliath, Goldlund and Miller deposits and is at pre-feasibility stage. Goldboro holds 2,580,000 oz of gold in measured and indicated resources (21.6 Mt at 3.72 g/t) plus 484,000 oz inferred, including a proven and probable reserve of 1,150,200 oz. Goldboro's 2022 feasibility study shows an after-tax NPV5% of US$262.4M (CAD 328M) and a 25.5% IRR at US$1,600/oz gold over a 10.9-year mine life. An updated Goldboro feasibility study is due in 2026 as a construction decision approaches, with early works planned for the second half of 2026, while a 25,000 m drill programme at Goldlund had reached 21,986 m by 30 June 2026.
