Neo Energy Metals plc (LSE: NEO, A2X: NEO; JSE Main Board listing targeted for 2026) is a uranium and gold developer focused on South Africa. Its flagship, Henkries, is a near-surface, paleochannel-hosted uranium deposit requiring no drilling or blasting (mineralisation in unconsolidated sands from surface to a maximum depth of 8 metres), with a JORC-compliant resource of 4.7 million pounds U3O8 at 399ppm and 25km of identified paleochannel remaining undrilled. A 2024 Feasibility Study on Henkries reported annual production of approximately 260,000 lb U3O8 at a cash cost of ~US$40/lb, NPV(10%) of US$15.1 million and an IRR exceeding 15% at US$57.7/lb, with total initial capex of approximately US$65 million. Separately, Neo signed an agreement in Dec 2024 to acquire the New Beisa Node (a brownfield uranium-gold redevelopment on the Beatrix 4 shaft property, Free State Goldfields, with over US$500 million of historical capital investment by prior operators, targeting first gold production Dec 2027) from Sibanye-Stillwater, but this acquisition remains INCOMPLETE as of this pass -- three sequential regulatory approvals are required, with deadlines extended to 6 Dec 2026 (Sibanye-Stillwater's side) and 6 Jun 2027 (Neo's own Section 11 consent). A 24 Jul 2026 site-access/contractorship agreement lets Neo begin a self-funded implementation assessment (~GBP3.15M, ~8 months, covering gold plant refurbishment, uranium processing metallurgy and site-wide infrastructure) while the regulatory transfer continues, but Neo does not yet own New Beisa. In Jan 2026 the company also announced a strategic funding agreement with UK-based Gilini (up to GBP8 million) to advance New Beisa toward production, contingent on the acquisition itself closing.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Technical Report Takeaways

STAGE: FEASIBILITY, anchored to Henkries' 2024 Feasibility Study (JORC-compliant 4.7M lb U3O8 resource; NPV10% US$15.1M, IRR>15% at US$57.7/lb, initial capex ~US$65M, 260,000 lb U3O8/yr at ~US$40/lb cash cost). New Beisa is DELIBERATELY EXCLUDED from stage/commodity determination: the acquisition is signed but not completed (regulatory approvals pending, deadlines extended to Dec 2026/Jun 2027) -- Neo has site access for a self-funded assessment programme, not ownership, so New Beisa's gold component is not tagged as a secondary MinerCommodity and its targeted Dec 2027 first-production date is not treated as evidence of NEO's own current stage. Revisit once/if the New Beisa acquisition actually closes.
