New Age Metals Inc. (TSXV: NAM, formerly Pacific North West Capital Corp) is a Winnipeg-based explorer whose 100%-owned flagship, the River Valley palladium-platinum project northeast of Sudbury, Ontario (about 12,000 acres, two mining leases), hosts one of the largest primary PGM resources in the Americas, with about $40M spent on it to date. A Preliminary Economic Assessment by P&E Mining Consultants, effective 29 June 2023 and based on the 2021 Mineral Resource Estimate, outlines a 6,850 tonne-per-day open-pit and underground mine and process plant over a 16-year mine life, averaging 47,400 oz of payable palladium a year, with an after-tax NPV5% of CAD$140M and an after-tax IRR of 11%. The pit-constrained Measured and Indicated resource is 89.9 Mt at 0.54 g/t Pd, 0.21 g/t Pt, 0.04 g/t Au and 0.06% Cu at a $15/tonne NSR cut-off, with additional Inferred material. 2026 work at River Valley has focused on PLATSOL metallurgical optimisation testwork and a 3D induced polarization survey of the 4.5km Mustang Zone. NAM has also optioned its 100%-owned Genesis nickel-copper-PGE property in Alaska to Rockport Capital, which can earn up to 70% by funding exploration while NAM stays operator, and it is prospecting the Bonanza Ridge gold project in Ontario's Kenora Mining District, where samples returned up to 4.77 g/t gold.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.7/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
