Minco Silver's flagship Fuwan Silver Project (~45km SW of Guangzhou, China) has a completed Bankable Feasibility Study (Tetra Tech, 2008-2009) confirming 50.4 million oz silver over a 9.2-year mine life, but has not advanced to construction after roughly 17 years, apparently gated on final operating-permit approval. The company disclosed in 2025 that it had commenced a process to sell its interests in Fuwan and the adjacent Changkeng Gold Project, and as of its June 2026 AGM still describes both as flagship assets while continuing to evaluate new opportunities -- effectively a holding pattern rather than active development.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Insiders, Investors & Smart Money

Notable shareholders and insiders whose involvement is worth knowing about, plus what we're seeing from institutional/large-investor activity.

Smart money
1/10

The register lists several large holders, but none survive close inspection as genuine outside conviction money: the largest, Minco Capital Corp, is plausibly connected to the same corporate family that controls Minco Silver itself, and the next largest is a generalist China-focused venture fund rather than a resource specialist. No producer holds a stake and we found no confirmed open-market insider buying.

Technical Report Takeaways

Fuwan Silver Project (Guangdong Province, southeast China; Minco Silver's sole material asset). International Bankable Feasibility Study by Wardrop, released 28 Sep 2009 -- STILL the only feasibility-level economic study on record for this project as of this pass (no updated PEA/PFS/FS found; the company has been effectively dormant on Fuwan project-advancement news for an extended period, per the news sweep this pass, though stage remains FEASIBILITY rather than being downgraded). NPV6 (6% discount rate) = US$111.5 million, NPV8 (8% discount rate) = US$95.3 million -- NPV6 written here as the study's own headline/base-case figure. IRR = 33.2%, tax basis (pre-tax vs after-tax) not specified in any source checked this pass -- written as reported, flagged as basis-unconfirmed. Payback 2.3 years. Mine life 9.2 years (underground, 3,000 tpd) -- already on file from a prior pass, same source, re-confirmed here. Metal price assumption: US$13.57/oz Ag -- SEVERELY STALE relative to spot silver (~US$80/oz as of Aug 2026 per market data seen this pass); this is the same "old study at a stale price" caution the playbook flags for the ORV/Orvana gold case, recorded explicitly rather than silently presented as current. Reserve/Resource (effective 1 Sep 2009, issued 23 Oct 2009): Probable Reserve 9.118 Mt @ 189 g/t Ag = 55.3 million oz contained (diluted) -- a subset of, and consistent with, the larger Total Indicated Resource of 15.975 Mt @ 182 g/t = 93.5 million oz (Fuwan+Changkeng combined). A separate press figure of "50.4 million oz of silver" refers to total RECOVERED/payable silver over the mine life after metallurgical recovery losses (not the contained reserve) -- not conflated with the 55.3 Moz contained figure written here. ouncesFound written from the RESERVE figure (55.3 Moz contained, Probable) rather than the larger Indicated resource total, since the FS's NPV/IRR/mine-life above are reserve-based, not resource-based -- keeping ouncesFound consistent with the same mine plan as the other three fields this pass.
