Its flagship is the La Plata Project, a large-scale, road-accessible copper-silver-PGE-gold porphyry/epithermal system in southwestern Colorado, worked in collaboration with Newmont Corporation (9.5% strategic equity investment, May 2023). A January 2026 NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (SLR USA Advisory Inc., effective 23 Jan 2026) for the Allard deposit at La Plata reported an Inferred Resource of 181.4Mt at 0.36% CuEq (0.33% Cu, 2.9 g/t Ag), containing 1,307M lbs copper and 17.0Moz silver, plus a 45.4Mt precious-metals subset containing 91,000oz Pt, 121,000oz Pd and 60,000oz Au (272,000oz PGE+Au combined) -- a 23% tonnage expansion over the prior 2023 estimate. The company's other flagship, the Keno Silver Project in Yukon's historic Keno Hill silver district, carries an inaugural 2024 resource of 18.2Moz silver-equivalent; Metallic Minerals is also building a portfolio of gold royalties in the Klondike Gold District.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.5/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Newmont, the world's largest gold producer, has been a strategic shareholder here since 2023 and holds about 9.2% today, working with the company through a joint technical committee. Eric Sprott, one of the best-known names in resource-sector investing, independently owns 8.7% (Metallic's own September 2026 presentation). Together that is substantial backing from both a major producer and a leading specialist.
