Quebec: Fraser PPI 2025 is 79.39 of 100 (rank 23 of 68), which maps to 9 on this site's scale. The Douay/Joutel gold project is in Quebec's Abitibi Greenstone Belt; Quebec offers competitive mining-sector tax incentives.
Infrastructure (40%, counts 50% here)7.9/10
Confirmed road access and confirmed grid power at Douay/Joutel Gold Project, Abitibi Greenstone Belt, Quebec; existing mill and tailings facility not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.
Nearby producing mine (20%)Not counted: would not raise the score
Sleeping Giant (Abcourt Mines Inc.) is 44 km away and would score 8.4/10 on its own, but that is below what this company's other researched inputs already give it. A nearby producing mine can only raise this score, never lower it, so it isn't counted here.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Agnico Eagle Mines, a top-tier global gold producer, holds nearly 13% of Maple Gold Mines through cash strategic investments, most recently in February 2026. The two companies' 2021 50-50 joint venture was wound up in 2024: Maple now owns Douay and Joutel outright, and Agnico kept a 1% royalty and an option to buy back half if a mine is built. Franklin Templeton's dedicated gold and precious metals fund led a further financing round to close to 10% ownership, and a director bought shares on the open market.
