GoldLake Carey Gold Project (Devon Pit in production; Fortitude North in exploration), Western Australia Map

Matsa Resources Limited is a Western Australian gold producer and explorer operating the Lake Carey Gold Project, ~220km northeast of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and 70km south of Laverton in the north-eastern Goldfields. Its Devon Pit has been in scheduled batch production since a first gold pour on 15 September 2025: mined ore (309kt @ 4.6g/t Au reserve, 46koz) is stockpiled on site and hauled in ~50,000-tonne campaigns for toll processing at the third-party FMR Greenfields Mill in Coolgardie, targeting roughly 40,000oz of gold mined and sold over an 18-month program running to end-2026. Beyond Devon, Lake Carey carries a broader 949,000oz @ 2.5g/t Au mineral resource; AngloGold Ashanti holds an option (extended to 20 December 2026, for which Matsa has received a cumulative A$9.5M in option and cost-reimbursement payments, including a further A$1.65M extension fee) to acquire a majority stake in the project for A$101M cash. Exploration continues at the Fortitude North prospect within the same project, where July 2026 diamond drilling returned multiple high-grade intercepts (including 15.2m @ 2.93g/t Au from 298.8m) extending mineralisation beyond the current resource envelope. Matsa also holds exploration ground in Thailand, secondary to its Western Australian gold focus.

Construction Milestones

5 of 5 reached
  1. Oct 2024 · Devon Pit Gold Mine announced 'fully permitted and mine ready', per Matsa's Oct 2024 ASX announcement (month precision only -- exact day not resolved this pass). · Source
  2. Mar 2025 · Matsa signed a mining services deal for Devon Pit (28 Mar 2025) alongside A$6M in funding secured from Blue Cap Mining Pty Ltd to support Devon operations -- the decision point committing capital and a mining contractor to move Devon from permitted-but-idle to active development. · Source
  3. Jun 2025 · Mining operations at the Devon Pit starter pit commenced as scheduled in June 2025, with initial ore stockpiling on site (haulage to the Greenfields Mill following in July) -- per Sharecafe's 10 Jun 2025 coverage. Month precision only. · Source
  4. Sep 2025 · First gold pour at Devon Pit, producing doré via toll milling at the FMR Greenfields Mill, per Matsa's own announcement ("occurred on Monday 15th September" 2025). A secondary source (mining.com.au) separately dated the same event 17 Sep 2025; Matsa's own primary announcement is preferred. · Source
  5. Sep 2025 · First gold sale followed the initial processing campaign (49,082 tonnes processed on schedule and within budget) in the week after the 15 Sep 2025 pour, per Executive Chairman Paul Poli's own statement ("first gold sale to occur in the next week"). Production continues as sequential ~50,000t batch toll-milling campaigns (third planned Apr 2026) rather than continuous milling -- genuine, revenue-generating, sustained production against the company's 18-month/40koz plan, not a one-off pilot, but the batch structure is real and noted here rather than implying a continuous operation. · Source

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Technical Report Takeaways

stage=PRODUCTION reflects the Devon Pit's active batch toll-milling campaigns (first pour 15 Sep 2025, third campaign planned Apr 2026), not a continuous owned mill -- Matsa is separately studying a potential 1Mtpa owned processing plant at Fortitude for longer-term operational control, not yet committed. dcfNpvUsd/irrPct/mineLifeYears not written this pass: the AngloGold Ashanti option (A$101M for a majority stake in the 949koz broader resource) is a real, cited corporate development but is an in-progress option, not a completed economic study Matsa itself has published for Lake Carey as a whole. cashPositionUsd deliberately NOT written: no primary-sourced, dated quarterly cash figure was found this pass (searches returned only stale/indirect references) -- a future pass should pull Matsa's most recent Appendix 5B quarterly cash-flow report directly rather than assert an unsourced number.
