Construction Milestones
5 of 5 reached- Aug 2019 · Mexico's SEMARNAT granted the federal Environmental Impact Statement (EIS/MIA) permit for the Santana gold project, providing the key approval to build a commercial-scale mine and heap-leach facility. · Source
- Jan 2020 · Minera Alamos announced its construction decision and commencement of construction of the Santana gold mine, following a C$14M financing arrangement with Osisko Gold Royalties. · Source
- Jan 2020 · Physical construction of the Santana open-pit heap-leach mine (roads, leach pad, plant works) began, per the same release headlined 'Commences Construction of Santana Gold Mine.' · Source
- Oct 2021 · Minera Alamos announced Santana achieved first gold production, delivering its first gold dore from ore stacked on the heap leach pad during July-August 2021. · Source
- Reached — date not disclosed · Genuinely reached, but only a half-year window was found, no month or day precision anywhere: Minera Alamos' own release states its initial commercial-production thresholds at the Santana heap-leach gold mine (Sonora, Mexico -- the company's first mine, first gold poured October 2021) -- including gold recoveries exceeding 70% and sustained 10,000 tpd mining rates -- were met "in the second half of 2022", formally announced 2023-01-31. Rather than guess a specific month or day, achievedDate is left null. La Fortuna (Durango, 100%-owned) remains a development/permitting-stage project (PEA and main federal permits in hand), not yet producing, and Santana remains Minera Alamos' sole current producing asset. This row was missing entirely prior to 2026-08-21 -- a genuine data gap, not a stage error; Miner.stage was already correctly PRODUCTION. · Source
Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Equinox Gold received 96,802,816 shares (9.15%) of Minera Alamos as the equity half of the US$115 million Pan Complex acquisition, agreed August 2025 -- but it did not stay a holder: following Minera Alamos's 10:1 share consolidation (5 January 2026), a subsidiary of Equinox Gold sold its entire remaining position (9,680,281 post-consolidation shares) to a group of strategic investors for C$56.1 million gross in February 2026, confirmed in Equinox's own Q1 2026 financial statements. Equinox holds 0% today. The dedicated gold fund ASA Gold and Precious Metals holds roughly 5.25%, built through the C$135 million bought deal that closed in September 2025. Osisko took 19.9% back in 2017 and still had 17.2% in 2021, but whether it has held on through the very large financings since is not disclosed.
