Construction Milestones

2 of 5 reached
  1. Reached — date not disclosed · Imwelo Gold Project fully permitted
  2. Not yet reached
  3. Reached — date not disclosed · Phase 1 earthworks commenced, targeting gold production in 2027
  4. Not yet reached
  5. Not yet reached

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Two strategic corporates are on this register for real reasons. Barrick Gold put in about C$1.5 million of cash equity for roughly 6% alongside a Tembo partnership worth up to US$60 million — US$6 million paid up front, US$9 million committed to exploration and up to US$45 million in resource milestones — though that equity figure dates from April 2022 and has certainly been diluted since. More current is Taifa Group, the Tanzanian mining and civils contractor owned by Rostam Aziz, which is subscribing C$11,520,000 for 48 million shares in three stages and takes a board seat. Two discretionary managers, AIMS Asset Management at 9.5% and Concept Capital at 5.71%, sit behind them, and chairman Simon Benstead bought 703,300 shares on the open market in October 2025.

Technical Report Takeaways

RESOLVED 2026-08-22 (Task #432): walked stage back CONSTRUCTION -> PERMITTING. The company's own materials explicitly disclaim the foundation a construction decision requires -- "The Company has not completed a feasibility study on Imwelo that establishes mineral reserves demonstrating economic and technical viability" and "[a]ny decision to commence production would not be based on a feasibility study of mineral reserves" (Lake Victoria Gold, "Commences Phase 1 Earthworks at Fully Permitted Imwelo Gold Project", newsfilecorp.com/release/306840). Only a historical, updated 2021 PFS exists and is explicitly described as 'not current' under NI 43-101 (M 42,000 oz @ 3.15 g/t + I 95,700 oz @ 1.95 g/t = ~137,700 oz M+I, plus Inferred 153,900 oz separately -- not usable as a current figure). No formal construction decision / Final Investment Decision has been announced; coverage through Aug 2026 describes a targeted Q3 2026 construction decision still pending. The enforced stage=CONSTRUCTION-implies-CONSTRUCTION_DECISION lifecycle gate (src/lib/lifecycle-gates.ts) was a live, correctly-triggered violation, not a backfill gap. Real, evidenced milestones: PERMIT_GRANTED (Mining License 10-year renewal/transfer completed 7 Nov 2024 -- genuinely fully permitted) but not CONSTRUCTION_DECISION, so PERMITTING is the highest stage actually backed by evidence. The dated CONSTRUCTION_START milestone row (Phase 1 earthworks, reported 28 Jul 2026) is left on file: it is a true, physically-occurred event (early site works genuinely underway under the existing permits, ahead of a formal board decision) and does not contradict this stage -- no enforced gate requires stage >= CONSTRUCTION for that milestone row to exist. Re-check when Horizon's targeted Q3 2026 construction decision and/or current feasibility study actually lands.
