What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)7/10

Namibia is politically stable and one of Africa's better mining jurisdictions, but its Policy Perception Index recently fell amid rising regulatory discretion and economic-empowerment policy uncertainty in the mining sector.

  • Infrastructure (40%)1.4/10

No confirmed mill, no confirmed grid power, and no confirmed tailings facility at Haib Copper Project, southern Namibia; road access not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: Rosh Pinah (Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation), 138 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.7/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Teck Resources Limited, a real major diversified base-metals producer, holds 5% of Koryx per the company's own investor fact sheet (April 2026) -- a secondary source suggests the figure could be closer to 7%, but 5% is used as the company's own stated number. The stake traces to Deep-South Resources' 2014-2017 acquisition of the Haib deposit from Teck via share-and-cash consideration. Director Heye Edmund Daun has bought stock on the open market extremely consistently through the entire trailing year, joined by director Charles Edward Loots, with no offsetting selling on record.
