Kantra Copper LimitedK
The company's sole asset is Kanmantoo, a copper-gold deposit in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia: Hillgrove rehabilitated the site from 2007 following an original DFS, reached first production in late 2011 (an open-pit operation, ore processed through a 3.6Mtpa plant purchased from a Western Australian operation and commissioned on site), and mined a series of open pits from 2010-2020, producing ~173,000t copper and ~55,000oz gold before mining concluded in 2020 and the plant/tailings facility went to care and maintenance. The company then pursued an underground restart beneath the mined-out open pits: underground mining recommenced May 2023, a positive Final Investment Decision for Stage 1 underground development followed in Jun 2023, first copper production was achieved Feb 2024, and commercial production was declared Jul 2024. The restart reused the existing, already-permitted ML6345 mining lease and the existing 3.6Mtpa processing plant/tailings infrastructure rather than requiring a new mine permit -- production has grown for five consecutive quarters since, reaching an annualised processing run rate of 1.8Mtpa by Jun 2026, with HY2026 (six months to 30 Jun 2026) revenue of A$115.1 million and net profit of A$19.5 million, and a Stage 2 FID (further underground expansion) in active preparation, alongside a separately-flagged Emily Star satellite deposit FID brought forward to the Sep 2026 quarter.

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.
Jurisdiction (40%)9/10
South Australia: Fraser PPI 2025 is 85.47 of 100 (rank 16 of 68), which maps to 9 on this site's scale. Kanmantoo is in South Australia's Adelaide Hills, a Tier-1 mining jurisdiction, with existing grid power, sealed-road access and a fully permitted, decades-old mining lease (ML6345).

A confirmed mill, confirmed road access, confirmed grid power, and a confirmed tailings facility at Kanmantoo Underground Copper-Gold Mine.
Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched
No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: White Dam (Broken Hill Gold Ltd.), 364 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Kantra Copper, renamed from Hillgrove Resources in August 2026 with its ASX code changing from HGO to KAN in September 2026, owns the Kanmantoo copper-gold mine in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, its sole asset. Kanmantoo was mined by open pit from 2010 to 2020, producing about 173,000 t of copper and 55,000 oz of gold, and was restarted underground beneath the old pits, with first copper in February 2024 and commercial production in July 2024 through the existing 3.6 Mtpa plant. Measured and indicated resources contain 168,200,000 lb of copper (82,900,000 lb measured and 85,300,000 lb indicated) plus 183,900,000 lb inferred, as at 30 September 2025. Processing reached an annualised rate of 1.8 Mtpa by June 2026, and the board has approved developing Emily Star as a third underground mining front, with stoping scheduled from the second half of 2027.
