Goldalso:Talapoosa gold-silver project, with the adjoining Appaloosa and Ranch Trend claims (Lyon County, Nevada, USA) Map

Gunpoint Exploration Ltd. holds the Talapoosa low-sulphidation gold-silver deposit in the Walker Lane trend of western Nevada, roughly 45 kilometres east of Reno, covering about 14,870 acres across 535 unpatented mining claims together with the adjoining Appaloosa and Ranch Trend ground. The NI 43-101 resource reports 28.4 million tonnes at 1.11 g/t gold and 14.97 g/t silver for 1.01 million ounces of gold and 13.65 million ounces of silver in the Measured and Indicated categories, plus an Inferred 233,532 ounces of gold and 2.17 million ounces of silver. A 2015 preliminary economic assessment prepared by WSP for then-operator Timberline Resources, on a US$1,150/oz gold and US$16/oz silver base case, returned an after-tax NPV at 5% of US$136 million, an after-tax IRR of 38.8%, an 11-year mine life and a 3.1-year payback on roughly US$51 million of initial capital -- figures that predate the current gold price by more than a decade and should be read as historical rather than current guidance. Gunpoint regained a 100% controlling interest in Talapoosa and, after Newmont terminated its Appaloosa option in 2024, has redirected work to the Ranch Trend, where initial reverse-circulation drilling identified new mineralised zones over about 1.6 kilometres of strike.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Smart money
2/10

Chesapeake Gold, a Canadian gold developer, owns more than half of Gunpoint Exploration -- an overwhelming position that most likely reflects Gunpoint's history as a spin-out of Chesapeake's non-core assets rather than a fresh outside conviction bet, so it is scored as a legacy corporate holding rather than at full strength.

Technical Report Takeaways

Talapoosa NI 43-101 resource: Measured and Indicated 28.4 Mt @ 1.11 g/t Au and 14.97 g/t Ag = 1.01 Moz Au and 13.65 Moz Ag -- the gold M&I figure is what is written to ouncesFound, per this database's Measured+Indicated convention. Recorded here only, not summed in: Inferred 233,532 oz Au and 2.17 Moz Ag. The contained silver is material to project economics but this schema has a single ouncesFound column, so it is not double-counted there.
