Great Southern Copper PLCG
Great Southern Copper PLC is a UK-incorporated (England & Wales, company no. 12497319), London-headquartered mineral exploration company targeting copper-gold-silver porphyry systems in the underexplored coastal copper belt of northern Chile, admitted to AIM in December 2021. Its principal asset is the Especularita project, an option to earn 100% of mining rights across 16,747 hectares, within which several targets are being advanced: Cerro Negro (Phase III diamond and RC drilling completed in 2026), Viuda (tested for porphyry gold systems), Colorada (new high-priority target being tested) and Mostaza (a high-grade copper-silver discovery the company is following up). The company also holds the San Lorenzo project and a lithium interest at Monti. In November 2025 the company raised GBP2.5 million via a private placing (99.64 million new shares at 2.5p, a 10% discount to its 20-day VWAP) described as its largest raise since listing, to expand the Chilean exploration programme; cash at bank stood at GBP1.17 million as of 31 Mar 2026 (FY2026 year end), with the Group carrying GBP Nil borrowings at both 31 Mar 2026 and 31 Mar 2025.

Lifecycle Milestones
Jurisdiction (40%)7/10
UK-incorporated and AIM-listed, but all of its exploration ground is in Chile's Coastal Metallogenic Belt. Chile is a well-regarded mining jurisdiction with an established mining code and decades of large foreign-operated copper mines, though a pre-resource, single-country explorer carries more risk than a major.
Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure
Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Especularita Project, Coastal Metallogenic Belt, Chile (checked Sep 26, 2026; recheck due Mar 25, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
How this score is built

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)
Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

No producer stake on file; largest strategic holder is Foreign Dimensions Pty Ltd (46.72%) See holders
Not an operating producer, so it isn't the toehold-then-takeout pattern the research documents; a missing producer stake isn't held against a company.
Weight 25% - Distance to a producing mineSub-score: Not yet researched
Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file
Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.

In September 2026 it began an induced-polarisation and resistivity survey of up to 6 line-km at Cerro Negro, extending east over the Monolith silver-copper target, to define targets for a fourth phase of drilling. It also holds the San Lorenzo project and a lithium interest at Monti, and no JORC or NI 43-101 resource has been published for any of its targets.
