Golden Goliath Resources Ltd. (TSXV: GNG) sold its remaining Mexican exploration assets to a subsidiary of Fresnillo plc in Oct 2024 (concessions for USD$75,000 plus USD$25,000 from a royalty sale, with a further USD$50,000 conditional on certain milestones) -- Golden Goliath has fully exited Mexico, a jurisdiction it was historically associated with. It holds two 100%-owned Ontario gold properties (Wish Ore, near Sault Ste. Marie; Dixie Road, south of Kinross's Great Bear deposit) plus four rare-earth-element projects in Quebec. In February 2026 it agreed to take a 29.5% interest in the West Gabal El Dehies gold concession in Egypt's Eastern Desert (15.45 km2, about 190 km by road from Aswan), with Nexgold International Mining Company (10%) as operator and the remaining 60.5% held by a local company and a government-controlled company.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
4.6/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
