Finlay Minerals Ltd.
Finlay Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: FYL) is a Vancouver-based grassroots explorer, founded in 1999, working base- and precious-metal targets in the Toodoggone mining district of northern British Columbia. It looks for gold-rich copper porphyry, epithermal gold, copper, silver and molybdenum-copper deposits across three properties. Its two largest, PIL and ATTY (the latter covering 4,498 hectares of sub-alpine terrain in the southern Toodoggone), are each subject to a separate earn-in option under which Freeport-McMoRan may acquire an 80% interest; Finlay remains the operator during the earn-in period and all 2025 exploration on both properties was fully funded by Freeport. Drilling at PIL South has returned broad low-grade porphyry-style intervals -- hole PILS-24-006 cut 162 metres of 0.10% copper with 0.05 g/t gold, 7 g/t silver and 0.18% zinc from 749 metres, including 1.65 metres of 1.34% copper with 0.63 g/t gold and 195 g/t silver. The company's third property, SAY, is 100%-owned and prospective for high-grade copper-silver, with surface sampling returning up to 15.3% copper and 532 g/t silver. Finlay began its 2026 exploration programmes on PIL and ATTY in July 2026. No mineral resource estimate has been published on any property.
Lifecycle Milestones
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Insiders, Investors & Smart Money
Notable shareholders and insiders whose involvement is worth knowing about, plus what we're seeing from institutional/large-investor activity.
Freeport-McMoRan, one of the world's largest copper producers, signed two definitive earn-in agreements in April 2025 to fund up to $35 million of exploration plus $4.1 million in cash to earn up to 80% of Finlay's PIL and ATTY properties in British Columbia's Toodoggone district. The deal is confirmed still active and in good standing. No resource-specialist fund or insider buying was found alongside it.

Reports, Presentations & Documents
No mineral resource estimate published on any property -- ouncesFound and all study economics are therefore null, not omitted by oversight. Best results to date: PIL South hole PILS-24-006, 162 m of 0.10% Cu with 0.05 g/t Au, 7 g/t Ag and 0.18% Zn from 749 m, including 1.65 m of 1.34% Cu with 0.63 g/t Au and 195 g/t Ag (2024 programme, two diamond holes totalling 1,759 m); SAY surface sampling up to 15.3% Cu and 532 g/t Ag. OWNERSHIP: Finlay is currently the 100% owner of PIL, ATTY and SAY, so projectOwnershipPct is left null (which this database treats as 100%). Freeport-McMoRan holds separate options to earn 80% of PIL and of ATTY -- across both, $35M of exploration expenditures plus $4.1M of cash payments; for ATTY specifically, CAD$1.1M in aggregate cash payments plus $10M of exploration expenditures over six years. If and when an earn-in completes, the split becomes Freeport 80% / Finlay 20% on that property and projectOwnershipPct should be revisited. A party diluting below 10% in the resulting joint venture converts to a 1% NSR royalty, subject to a 0.5% buyback for US$2,000,000.
