ExGen Resources Inc.
ExGen Resources Inc. (TSXV: EXG; OTC: BXXRF), Vancouver-headquartered, is a copper-gold-lithium explorer whose principal asset is a 20% equity interest in Konnex Resources Inc., holder of the Empire Mine Project in the Alder Creek district near Mackay, Custer County, Idaho. Phoenix Copper Ltd (AIM:PXC / OTCQX:PXCLF) holds the other 80% and is the operator -- Konnex constructs and operates the project. Empire is a genuine PFS-stage development asset: the Pre-Feasibility Study published 19 Sep 2024 carries an inaugural Proven+Probable reserve of 10,097 kt @ 0.49% Cu / 0.32 g/t Au / 14.34 g/t Ag (109.5 Mlb Cu, 104 koz Au, 4.65 Moz Ag) at an NSR US$22.59/t cut-off, an 8-year open pit, US$62.6m capex, and after-tax NPV-7.5 of US$73.75m at a 40.2% IRR. Under a Carried Interest Agreement signed 17 Dec 2024, Phoenix funds 100% of ExGen's 20% share of construction and operating costs via a loan to Konnex, repaid from ExGen's 20% share of project profits; ExGen also holds 1,330,000 Phoenix shares. Execution risk is high and independent of the study's quality: only US$5m of Phoenix's US$80m NIU Invest SE copper bond was ever drawn, a replacement US$75m LOI did not close, Phoenix disclosed unauthorised payments in February and March 2026, and NIU requisitioned an EGM in April 2026 seeking an independent investigation; permitting (Idaho Department of Lands mine plan and federal NEPA review) remains incomplete. ExGen's directly-held ground is all claim/drill-stage with no resource estimate: the Buena Vista Copper and Spark North Lithium projects in Nevada, plus the Telegraph (~350 km2) and Southmore (~50 km2) copper-gold projects and royalties on four Golden Triangle properties in British Columbia acquired when the MTB Metals Corp. plan of arrangement completed on 19 Dec 2025 (0.286 ExGen shares per MTB share). Stage and businessModel therefore follow the Empire interest, per this repo's settled treatment of non-operating JV holders (Teuton/Treaty Creek, Nickel 28/Ramu, Rand Mining/East Kundana) rather than the company's own immaterial exploration ground.
Lifecycle Milestones
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Insiders, Investors & Smart Money
Notable shareholders and insiders whose involvement is worth knowing about, plus what we're seeing from institutional/large-investor activity.
No institutional or strategic holder is on record, and no open-market insider buying was found. ExGen itself holds a stake in Phoenix Copper Limited (an outbound investment, not backing into ExGen), and is the ACQUIRER (not target) in a pending merger with MTB Metals Corp, so this does not affect the smart-money read on ExGen itself.

Reports, Presentations & Documents
Current governing technical study: the Empire Mine Pre-Feasibility Study, published by RNS on 19 Sep 2024 by Phoenix Copper Ltd (AIM:PXC / OTCQX:PXCLF), the 80% owner and operator of Konnex Resources Inc. ExGen holds the other 20%. Inaugural Proven+Probable reserve (first stated May 2024): 10,097 kt @ 0.49% Cu / 0.32 g/t Au / 14.34 g/t Ag = 109,487,970 lb Cu, 104,000 oz Au, 4,654,400 oz Ag, at an NSR cut-off of US$22.59/t. 8-year open pit; capex US$62.6m; total cash cost $2.44/lb CuEq; cumulative pre-tax net free cashflow US$152.98m. Economics: pre-tax NPV-7.5 US$87.86m / IRR 46.4%; after-tax NPV-7.5 US$73.75m / IRR 40.2%, on $4.45/lb Cu, $2,325/oz Au, $27.25/oz Ag (approx. spot at 15 Apr 2024). NOTE the mine-life discrepancy: several aggregators report a nine-year life; the PFS RNS itself says 8 years and is used here. All figures are 100%-project; ExGen's economic share is 20% (see projectOwnershipPct). No PEA, feasibility study or updated PFS has superseded it -- the project is in detailed engineering design, and Phoenix's RNS of 10 Apr 2026 restates the same reserve. CAUTION on execution risk, not on the study: construction is unfunded. Of the US$80m NIU Invest SE copper bond announced fully subscribed in May 2024 only one US$5m tranche was ever drawn (Jun 2024) and 'as no further funding has been forthcoming, the warrants have since been cancelled'; a replacement US$75m LOI (Jun 2025) did not close; Phoenix disclosed unauthorised payments on 9 Feb and 9 Mar 2026, and NIU (11.7%) requisitioned an EGM on 10 Apr 2026 seeking an independent investigation and disclosure of liquidity and near-term funding plans. Permitting is also incomplete (Idaho Department of Lands mine plan plus federal NEPA review). Hence stage=PFS and not PERMITTING/CONSTRUCTION. ouncesFound deliberately left null: the reserve above is the whole project's and no source disaggregates a figure attributable to ExGen's 20% carried (not equity-proportional) interest -- the same reason recorded on TUO/Teuton -- compounded by the copper-row convention that left VCU/VMXX/CY5/CCCM/BSX null.
