Erdene Resource Development CorporationE
Erdene Resource Development Corporation (TSX: ERD) is a Canadian-headquartered gold and base-metals explorer/developer focused on the Khundii Minerals District in southwestern Mongolia. Its flagship Bayan Khundii Gold Mine achieved first gold pour in Q3 2025 and commercial production in Q1 2026, operated via Erdene Mongol LLC (jointly owned with Mongolian Mining Corporation). Q1 2026: 8,527 oz gold sold at an average US$4,872/oz, generating US$42M revenue; Q2 2026 output of 11,709 oz represented a 37% increase on Q1, with throughput reaching 94% of nameplate capacity (1,682 tpd). The mine plan includes the nearby high-grade Dark Horse satellite deposit, mined/processed starting Q3 2027 per the company's own 2025 disclosures. Beyond the operating mine, Erdene continues to explore Altan Nar (a separate polymetallic gold-silver-base-metals deposit ~16km north of Bayan Khundii) and Zuun Mod (a molybdenum-tungsten porphyry project), both earlier-stage and not the current production driver, as part of a stated multi-mine district strategy.

Milestones are recorded only from a company's own dated disclosure. A milestone with no date shown is one we can confirm was reached but for which no date was disclosed — we don't estimate one. "Not yet reached" means exactly that, not that a date is missing. An "Expected" line likewise only ever reflects the company's own guidance (e.g. a study or permit decision targeted for a stated quarter) — most not-yet-reached milestones have none, and that absence means no such guidance has been disclosed, not that one is overdue.

Jurisdiction (40%)5/10
The Bayan Khundii mine is in southwestern Mongolia's Khundii Minerals District, operated through Erdene Mongol LLC, jointly owned with Mongolian Mining Corporation. Mongolia has a mixed record with foreign mining investors (the long-running Oyu Tolgoi tax dispute, resolved in 2022), but a stable, government-supported local partner and a 30-year mining licence, extendable to 70 years, reduce the risk.

Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.

Bayan Khundii poured first gold on 15 September 2025 and reached commercial production in Q1 2026, and Q2 2026 output was 11,709 oz of gold, up 37% on Q1, with throughput at 94% of nameplate capacity. Measured and indicated resources at Bayan Khundii, the nearby Dark Horse satellite deposit and the Altan Nar deposit total 992,400 oz of gold (394,000 oz measured and 598,400 oz indicated) on a 100% basis, plus 198,500 oz inferred. The mine plan is based on a 513,700 oz proven and probable reserve from the August 2023 feasibility study, with Dark Horse scheduled to be mined from Q3 2027. Erdene also holds the Zuun Mod and Khuvyn Khar projects.
