UraniumBigrlyi Uranium-Vanadium Project, Ngalia Basin, Northern Territory Map

Energy Metals Ltd (ASX: EME) is a dedicated Australian uranium exploration company with a portfolio of projects covering roughly 2,400 square kilometres across the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Its flagship is Bigrlyi, a tabular sandstone-hosted uranium-vanadium deposit in the Ngalia Basin ~350km northwest of Alice Springs, operated by Energy Metals (72.39% interest) as manager of a joint venture with NT Uranium (20.82%) and Noble Investments (6.79%). An updated JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (Feb 2025) increased the project's contained uranium by 12% to 10,900 tonnes U3O8 (23.9 million lb), with 1,270ppm V2O5 vanadium credits, at a 500ppm U3O8 cutoff (1.69Mt Measured, 3.75Mt Indicated, 2.50Mt Inferred), following further 2024 drilling that lifted the proportion classified Measured to 20% -- increased geological confidence, not just a larger number. The company has since completed an updated in-house Scoping Study for Bigrlyi with, per its own headline coverage, 'positive results' -- but this pass's research could not locate the study's actual NPV/IRR/capex figures in available secondary coverage (see technicalReportNote), so `stage` remains RESOURCE_DEFINITION rather than being advanced to PEA on an unquantified headline alone. Energy Metals' largest shareholder, holding 66.45% of issued capital, is China Uranium Development Co Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) -- a real, material fact about who controls the company, disclosed here rather than left implicit.

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.

Technical Report Takeaways

STAGE: RESOURCE_DEFINITION, not PEA -- an updated Bigrlyi Scoping Study was announced with 'positive results' (abnnewswire.net headline, title only accessible this pass -- the article body itself 403'd, and repeated targeted searches for the study's NPV/IRR/capex figures kept surfacing other companies' unrelated scoping studies instead of Bigrlyi's) but no dollar figures were confirmed this pass, so the last actually-quantified milestone (the Feb 2025 JORC resource upgrade) is used instead, per this backlog's 'stage is a claim, not a label' discipline (Task #624's WA1 precedent). A future pass with access to the primary ASX announcement or a working abnnewswire fetch should re-check this and may find grounds to advance the stage. OWNERSHIP: China Uranium Development Co Limited (a CGN subsidiary) holds 66.45% of issued capital -- see description; not written to a dedicated field, no clean ownership-concentration field exists on Miner for a single majority holder outside the smartMoneyScore/institutionalOwnershipPct composites, and this pass did not attempt to re-derive those composites.
