Edge Copper Corporation
Edge Copper (rebranded from Plata Latina Minerals, Oct. 2025) is 100% owner of the Zonia Copper Project in Arizona, acquired from World Copper Ltd (TSXV:WCU) via a court-approved plan of arrangement that completed 30 Oct 2025, alongside a concurrent $17M financing that helped fund the deal. World Copper received $10.5M cash plus 37.82 million Edge Copper shares, but distributed most of that share consideration straight through to its own shareholders on closing (~0.12482512 of an Edge Copper share per World Copper share), retaining only ~$500,000 in cash and 5.0 million Edge Copper shares -- the widely-quoted "31.3%" figure describes World Copper AND its shareholders combined, not a block the company itself held. That residual 5.0M-share stake passed to unlisted spin-out World Copper Holdings Ltd. in July 2026; a Jun 2026 amending agreement to the spin-out's arrangement agreement raised the Edge Copper shares held by the spin-out in trust for named creditors to 5,000,000 (plus a minimum $715,000 cash in trust) -- the full amount World Copper ever held -- so this stake, even if unreduced, is pledged/collateral rather than a free discretionary holding, and if unchanged it is ~3% of the 167.4M shares outstanding. The project envisions an open-pit heap-leach SX-EW operation (PEA: $524.5M total capex incl. contingency, ~392,000 tons/784M lbs Cu over a 10-year mine life). The company is mid-drill-program (54,000 ft, started Jan. 2026) to update its resource ahead of a planned 2027 PFS, and graduated from the TSXV to the senior Toronto Stock Exchange in Aug. 2026.
Lifecycle Milestones
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal the underlying research identifies — whether a major already holds a JV, earn-in, or 5–19.9% strategic stake — isn't tracked yet and is absent from this score.
