OtherTaron Cesium Project (7 properties: El Oculto, Centauro, Cerro Lari I/II, Las Burras, Incahuasi, Santa Rosa, Salta Province) -- most advanced project, sets stage; also a group of copper exploration properties adjoining Lumina Copper's Taca Taca Bajo porphyry (La Sarita I/II, Sarita Este, Francisco I/II, Desierto I/II, Sarita Sur, Amarillo, Viejo Campo), held via subsidiary Cascadero Minerals Corporation and under a PENDING sale agreement Map

Cascadero Copper Corporation (TSXV: CCD) is an integrated mineral exploration company based in North Vancouver, BC with all of its real project interests in Salta Province, northwestern Argentina. On 1 Sep 2026 the company agreed to sell its subsidiary Cascadero Minerals Corporation (CMC) -- which holds a group of copper exploration properties adjoining Lumina Copper Corp.'s (a First Quantum Minerals affiliate) giant Taca Taca Bajo Cu-Au-Mo porphyry deposit -- to Lumina for US$15,000,000 cash on closing plus up to US$4,000,000 deferred consideration tied to Lumina's own Taca Taca investment/construction milestones. Following completion, Cascadero will retain its Taron Cesium Project (seven properties: El Oculto, Centauro, Cerro Lari I/II, Las Burras, Incahuasi, Santa Rosa) plus a broader portfolio of prospective Argentine exploration ground. Taron already carries the company's most advanced, most valuable asset today: a Preliminary Economic Assessment (effective 31 Jan 2024 resource date, announced 15 May 2024, prepared by Wardell Armstrong International to NI 43-101 standard) reporting an after-tax NPV(10) of US$79 million, 14% after-tax IRR, sub-5-year payback and a 14+-year mine life at a US$50,000/tonne cesium formate (80% concentration) product price assumption, targeting cesium formate for use in high-temperature/pressure oil-and-gas drilling fluids.

What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)6/10

Its copper properties near Taca Taca and the Taron cesium project are in Salta Province, Argentina, an established mining province, with federal-level currency-control and macroeconomic risk.

  • Infrastructure (40%)5/10

No confirmed mill and confirmed road access at Taron Cesium Project, Salta Province, Argentina; grid power and tailings facility not yet researched, counted at a neutral 5/10 until established.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: Cauchari-Olaroz (lithium brine) (Minera Exar), 107 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
4.3/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

  • Disclosed pending deal
    Sub-score: Not scored

A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)

A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.

    Weight 26.25%
  • Producer's strategic stake
    Sub-score: Not scored

No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
