Australian Vanadium Limited (ASX: AVL) is developing the Australian Vanadium Project at Gabanintha, Western Australia -- a large-scale, open-pit vanadium mine and processing operation targeting premium vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) for steel and the emerging vanadium redox-flow-battery market. A Bankable Feasibility Study (completed 2022) remains the current, formally-completed highest-level economic study: pre-tax NPV7.5% of A$833M (post-tax NPV7.5% of A$507M) and equity IRR of 20.6% (at US$10.50/lb V2O5), A$604M upfront pre-production capital, 7.3-year payback, average annual EBITDA of A$175M over a 25-year mine life. In September 2026 AVL terminated a 2017 Mineral Rights Sale Agreement with Albright Metals, consolidating full ownership of mineral rights (including nickel, copper and gold rights) across key Gabanintha tenements.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
8.4/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.

How this score is built

Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
