Lifecycle Milestones
Jurisdiction (40%)4/10
Ecuador carries real political risk, and the company itself describes a 'wait-and-see' posture toward its Cordillera de Cutucu project specifically.
Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure
Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Cordillera de Cutucu Project, Morona Santiago, Ecuador (checked Oct 2, 2026; recheck due Mar 31, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.
Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched
No project coordinates on file yet, so distance to a producing mine can't be measured.
Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
How this score is built
- Disclosed pending dealSub-score: Not scored
No pending acquisition or merger disclosed (checked)
Not scored: having no deal in flight isn't held against a company.
Weight 26.25% - Producer's strategic stakeSub-score: Not scored
No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders
Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
Weight 25% - Distance to a producing mineSub-score: Not yet researched
Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file
Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.

Insiders, Investors & Smart Money
Notable shareholders and insiders whose involvement is worth knowing about, plus what we're seeing from institutional/large-investor activity.
Aurania is essentially funded by its founder. Keith Barron, who co-discovered Fruta del Norte, holds about 45% of the company, draws no salary, lent it money under a January 2026 loan agreement, and has repeatedly bought stock — most recently 5,741,666 shares at C$0.12 in August 2025, on top of purchases at C$0.30 and C$0.45 in 2024 and 2025. There is no record of any insider ever selling. But founder money is not outside money: no producer or corporate holds equity, no named institutional or specialist fund appears on the register, and reported institutional ownership is zero.

Reports, Presentations & Documents
Aurania Resources is exploring three epithermal gold-copper-silver targets at its 100%-owned Cordillera de Cutucu project in Morona Santiago, Ecuador, where no resource has been estimated, and the company describes a wait-and-see approach given political risk in Ecuador. Under an April 2026 option agreement with St-Georges Eco-Mining and its subsidiary Iceland Resources, it is also advancing the Thormodsdalur epithermal gold project about 20km east of Reykjavik, Iceland, which it does not own outright. A six-hole program of about 770m began there on 8 September 2026, with five holes re-testing historical intercepts and one testing a new target where rock-chip samples returned up to 102 ppm gold; assays were pending. Aurania's finances are strained: its long-term debt consists of loans from its chairman, Keith Barron, and its shareholders' equity is negative.
