Altiplano Metals Inc.A
Altiplano Metals Inc. (TSXV: APN) is a small copper-gold-iron producer near La Serena, Chile, whose operations have been on care and maintenance since February 2026. It sold copper-gold and iron concentrates from its El Peñón processing plant, about 30 km south of La Serena, fed by the optioned Santa Beatriz mine, third-party ore and Farellón stockpiles: US$256,717 of sales in July to September 2025, and over C$23.8 million from copper sales between 2018 and March 2025. For November 2025 to January 2026 a contractor, Andes Core Mining, rented the mine and plant, with the right to sell the concentrate; that arrangement was suspended in February 2026 and both operations were placed on care and maintenance. In September 2026 a Chilean court ordered the liquidation of Andes Metals Chile SpA, the subsidiary that holds the Santa Beatriz option, on a contractor's claim; Altiplano has appealed, and the parent company is not in insolvency proceedings. On 5 Oct 2026 Altiplano agreed to sell the El Peñón mill, land and permits to Tersus Tierras SpA for US$1,540,000, a sale that needs TSX Venture Exchange and shareholder approval (a meeting is expected in November 2026). Its annual financial statements for the year to 31 Mar 2026 are overdue, and a management cease trade order has applied to its CEO and CFO since 31 Jul 2026.

Acquisition Susceptibility
A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
How this score is built
- Disclosed pending dealSub-score: Not scored
A disclosed corporate action (not an acquisition or merger)
A corporate action of this kind says nothing about takeover susceptibility, so it isn't scored.
Weight 26.25% - Producer's strategic stakeSub-score: Not scored
No producer holds a disclosed stake on file (holder register researched) See holders
Not scored: most juniors that do get bought had no prior toehold, so a missing stake says little either way.
Weight 25% - Distance to a producing mineSub-score: Not yet researched
Distance not yet researched: no project coordinates on file
Distance can't be measured without coordinates, so excluded rather than counted as far.
Weight 22.5% - Lifecycle stageSub-score:5.5/10
Stage: Production
Feasibility and permitting score 10, where deals cluster, and production 5.5; earlier stages score less, down to 1 at grassroots.
