AuMEGA Metals (renamed from Matador Mining, June 2024) is advancing the Cape Ray Gold Project in Newfoundland, which carries a 610,000 ounce gold resource across four deposits. Cash is left unstated: only a stale pre-financing figure was found, and the real ~CAD $30.1 million raise that closed 15 Apr 2026 is not reflected in any confidently dated post-raise balance. Debt-free.

Notable vs. Peers

What goes into it
  • Jurisdiction (40%)9/10

Newfoundland and Labrador: Fraser PPI 2025 is 93.01 of 100 (rank 7 of 68), which maps to 9 on this site's scale. Newfoundland, Canada — a top-tier mining jurisdiction; the ASX-primary listing does not change the underlying Canadian project jurisdiction.

  • Infrastructure (40%)No verified figure

Researched with nothing found: no source we could cite confirms or rules out an existing mill, road access, grid power, or tailings facility at Cape Ray Gold Project, Newfoundland (checked Oct 2, 2026; recheck due Mar 31, 2027). Counts at a neutral 5/10 until one does.

  • Nearby producing mine (20%)Not yet researched

No producing mine within 50 km in our reference list (nearest listed: Valentine (Equinox Gold Corp.), 185 km). That list doesn't cover every mining district yet, so a longer distance isn't scored as remote.

Acquisition Susceptibility

How this is calculated
5.2/10
Unlikely bolt-onFits the takeout profile

A relative ranking of how closely this company matches the profile of juniors that have actually been acquired — not a probability, and not a reason to buy. Acquisitions are rare: only a few dozen significant deals happen a year across a universe of thousands of juniors, so even a high score here describes a long shot. The strongest signal in the research, a producer that already owns part of the company, is scored from its disclosed strategic shareholders. A producer that is a joint-venture or earn-in partner on the project, rather than a shareholder, isn't captured yet.
